One has my name (the other has my heart)
The song was written by Dearest Dean-Eddie Dean-Hal Blair recorded around june 1948 (Crystal 132).

Other versions:
1948 - Jimmy Wakely;
1948 - Dick Dyson & his Musical Texans;
1949 - Buddy Walker.

The song was selected for recording on the 19 january 1957 session..

According to an agreement signed 7 december 1956 the rights of the songs was transferred from Elvis Presley Music Inc to Glady Music, Inc. However the song was never recorded by Elvis.

a very interesting find. This song was also recorded by Shakin Stevens in the 80's. There is a very interesting song conjuntion between Shaky and Elvis. In 1981 Shakin Stevens released his album "Shaky". On side 2 you'll find the song "This time" written by Chips Moman. I love this song from Shaky. In 1981 nobodys knows that Elvis tried this song during the 69 recording session. For the first time we hear Elvis "This time / I can't stop loving you" on the "essential 60 masters set" released in 1993 ! Shaky also recorded "Fire down below" for the "now listen" album.

The Drifters recorded this song in late 1961 (October 26) under the title "She Never Talked To Me That Way", but it wasn't released until 1972 :

You're welcome.

So this was scheduled for the October 15-16 session ? This one produced another Pomus/Shuman song, "Night Rider". Interesting that The Drifters' version was done only ten days later.

Thanks John for the addition; it's not my intention to add other and more versions recorded later on because that's out of my interest.
Some rejected songs are covered by other artists many times. There are sites like https://secondhandsongs.com/ to discover these other versions.

1966 recording sessions
These are not real rejected songs but according to page 204 from the book A day in music – page 204 the next songs were selected for possible recording in 1966. All these selections were shelved. .

What now my love (Et maintenant) (Sigman- Becaud) – performed live in the years 1972 / 1973 and occasionally recorded.

Power of my love (Giant-Baum-Kaye) – recorded later on 18 february 1969.

The wonderful world of Christmas (Tobias-Frish) – recorded later on 16 may 1971.

Merry Christmas baby (Baxter-Moore) – recorded later on 15 may 1971.

Anything for gold
According to the letter from 17 january 1956 the song was selected for recording. It was a new song.
I’ve not found any information about songwriters / other recordings.
