For this week, I could only find two notable subjects:
There's a kind of feud going on between Elvis' cousin Billy Smith and Elvis' fan and researcher "SpaGuy"... I'm not taking any side here, so just my two cents about such "who is right / who is wrong" discussions in general: No one should dare to think he or she have sole interpretational sovereignty over everything concerning any possible subject. Check your facts (especially if they are not from first hand sources!), consider all eventualities, be open minded, leave room for other opinions, admit your mistakes. And above all: Stay humble! A special line comes to mind: "
Isn't it a pity that in this big city not a one a'little bitty man'll admit he could have been a little bit wrong?"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdBKL9D9iX4Otherwise, only the Luhrmann film seems to stand out this week: Yesterday, a first film clip was released, concerning Elvis' first Hayride appearance (or what Luhrmann makes of it, in any case it is of course not historically accurate), which was already seen in the trailer. First "leaked" by Elvis' ex-wife, it was officially released shortly thereafter. As far as I remember this is where Austin Butler is heard singing as Elvis for the first time (albeit briefly):

The result is better than his first attempts with Butler. However, it shows once again that one also need the physique to be able to represent the person whose face was added via deepfake. Either way, it's impressive and one really wonders how long it will be before the big film studios really start using this technique consistently.
