Thanks, PP !

Ahmet Ertegun's and Jack Clement's coolness totally steal the show in front of Sam Phillips' laughable stiffness and self-important approach.

Good to see Barbara Pittman and Ray Harris too.

And that vintage colour footage shot in front of 706 (Roland Janes !) is truly priceless.

God bless Sun Records.

Good documentary.

I've seen bits and pieces of it but the first time I've seen it in its entirety.

I loved the bit of Billy Lee Riley playing harmonica in ghost town Beale Street.

Sam Phillips certainly does come across as a self important guy. But he had no need to be we know what he did and achieved he didn't need to brag about it.

I'm always a little sceptical about the story of how "That's All Right" came about. It's one of those stories that they have told so many times, virtually word for word, that it's how they believed it happened.

Watching the documentary again, there are so many small details to enjoy.

Not many images of Barbara Pittman are known from the fifties. I hadn't seen this on stage photo before, and I have just realized that we have, at left, Scotty Moore and D. J. Fontana. I can't identify the bass player, but the man seen at bottom right is trumpet player Hank Byers :

Great documentary, never saw it before. Thanks. You had the million dollar quartet off course, but there was also:Joe Hill louis, wolf, BB, Jackie brenston, blue Flames, pat hare, Billy Lee Riley, Rufus Thomas... And so many others, the list goes on and on. Great, great music, simple as that.

The bass player looks like it’s Bill Black. He is not in focus as well as the others, but since the two other Blue Moon Boys are present I would assume it to be him.

Looking at the photo again, I think you are right. Even the bass seems to be Black's. Thank you !
