Jailhouse Rock Movie Bloopers

Postby Steve Grayson '67 » Thu Jun 18, 2015 7:36 pm

1_In one scene, Elvis Presley's prison uniform displays the number 6239, yet in another it becomes 6240.
..........................................................................................
2-When Elvis is at the pool singing "you're so square baby I don't care" watch his guitar player Scotty Moore sitting behind him.
They use two camera shots for the scene. In one shot he has sunglasses on, in the other shot they are gone.
This happens throughout the entire song.
.....................................................................
3-In one of his most famous movie scenes, Elvis lip syncs the wrong words to Jailhouse Rock. Watch his lips when he sings the words "The (band) was jumpin' down, the joint began to swing."[/b]

Not a 'blooper' as such !

One was his actual prison number & the other was after he was released & 're-enacting' his role for entertainment purposes !

Elvis was brilliant at lip synching - he was terrible at miming.

I'll give you an example of Elvis being brilliant at lip synching - 68 special - If I Can Dream - White suit or black leather synchs.

I thought lip synching was miming !

He lip synched IICD in the black leather, but surely he sang it live in the white suit ?

Nope, not live - but, well yes he did in a way.

Miming is silent.

Elvis sang along to the pre-recorded track - which is lip synching.
So although he sang it live we never got to hear that vocal we just hear what he was singing along to.

The white suit performance and both the black leathers are exactly the same recording audio wise.
