Right, thanks !
My notes are a tad sketchy with regard to the 'unofficial' releases...... something I should work on.
From the info supplied by colonel snow & shanebrown, it seems the vocal-free backing track, unofficially released in 1976, is take 16, & was from the March, 1968, studio sessions for the Live a Little, Love a Little soundtrack & didn't really belong on an album of the 68 Comeback material* !
And, although the song was considered for the TV show, nothing actually got recorded in connection with it.
Additionally, the track used in the Ocean's 11 film, & subsequently re-mixed, very successfully, by Junkie XL was take 2 from the March sessions.
Hope I've got that right now !
*Keith Flynn explains that the 'dub-down' [on which Elvis' vocal is removed] was made at the request of Steve Binder as he was going to have Elvis sing the song in the 'Comeback Show' but never did, so in a sense it could be claimed that it belongs with the other material from the show.
