For Matt as a fan from this movie:

Parts of songs used in Confidence – production number >> instrumentals:

London bridge is fallin’ down;
Here we go in the mulberry bush;
Frére Jacques;
Row row row your boat;
Skip to my Lou;
Melodically.

Maybe Confidence is inspired by the song High hopes by Frank Sinatra (1959)?.

Just an educated guess since Clambake was a UA release. I guess it would be cheaper to get an old footage from another UA film.

That makes sense, but which one? Matt Helm will never rest until he knows the answer.

Sorry to answer so late pal, your post is one of a kind...but i think your last qoute is the real one; it was inspired on Franks tune..but so what, btw i'm not a "CLAMBAKE" Fan...my favorite will always be HARUM SCARUM, from the "lovely ELVIS trash-movie-side"...but CLAMBAKE comes very close :D ...happy 2019 friend, Matt

It's not lack of interest, Matt - we just don't know the answer...

Several classic Songs from elvis comes to my mind:
" Patience, a little think called patience ",
"The riddle I never solved,............somebody else will solve',
"How can you miss what you never knew"

You’re kidding Matt. There is nowhere else to look.

There must be tons of westerns from that sort of era that included a cavalry, which makes tracking it down very difficult.

Unless you can identify the actor - I did wonder if it might be someone like Randolph Scott. As they are shown in fairly close up it could have been a well known actor in a lead roll.

Surprising that they went to the effort of editing two similar vintage western scenes together for something like Clambake.

Have you tried anything to narrow down the search, Matt Helm.

Thank you all friends; i think this is a real fine little question in the ELVIS Puzzle, don't you think so?! Yes i know...this is nothing like the "I FEEL THAT I'VE KNOWN YOU FOREVER" Song-Mystery from the movie "Tickle Me" from 1965, but so what... Peace&Love Matt
