The song is so simple, and I think that's the beauty of it. Great lyrics and those harmonies are perfect.
Thanks Mike. How did you come across this?
Glad you liked it, John. I was channel-hoping, as is my wont. When we only had 3 channels to choose from, I could always find something to watch, now there are 100s, there's nothing on.
Anyhow, I was skipping thru, giving each channel a second or two, then onto the next. I passed over these guys, then about 10 or so channels later my subconscious kicked in and said, hey those guys were good, so I went back. Glad I did.
John wrote:Mike, on the strength of your post I have now bought the album. First county album I've bought in many years, probably since something by the Mavericks about 15 years ago.
Excellent. Please let us know what you think of it. I often buy albums on impulse (over the years, impulse buys have introduced me to Arthur Alexander, Miriam Makeba and Dinah Washington to name but 3), but I will return the pressure here, and purchase, or not, on the strength of your review.
I've played it once today and really liked it. They remind me of The Mavericks in a couple of spots. All the songs are strong and with good lyrics and harmonies. I don't buy physical CDs anymore, apart from Elvis, so this was obviously a download. impulse buys cost me a lot of money over the years and took up a lot of space, so that's a habit I kicked a few years ago. Anyway, I've not kept up with country music for a long time, but this took me back to good old country tunes from over 30 years ago. Simple melodies, nothing fancy. Lovely stuff.
