Obviously is another one, when in fact it isn't obvious. How about "I turned around and said, then she turned around and said, then I turned around and said". That makes me laugh, with all that turning around.

"At the end of the day", seems to get used too much.

I'm not fond of the word "guys" when addressing a group that includes women.

It is a bit odd, isn't it ?

I first noticed it in a US TV show, where a girl addressed a bunch of girls as 'you guys !'

Good point Col. I reckon "guys", directed at females, originated from the US.

We have a local on line group where local services and requests for services and things for sale can be advertised. This appeared last week.

Hi gays , if you need professional cleaning services we can help you.
We are so friendly team.
We are fully insured and we can provide references if needed. End of tenacity, deep cleaning, regular cleaning, weekly cleaning, ironing.

I pointed out their obvious mistake to them:
Did you mean guys rather than gays?

and they re-posted:

Just now- 20 % off for a new costume.

I didn't point out the other mistakes, tenacity should be tenancy, costume should be customer.

Under the Trades Description Act, could you insist they cure you of your 'tenaciousness' & give you 20% off a new set of clothes ?

I'll try. I'm sure there are a few Elvis fans I could also introduce in terms of both aspects.

But that's what Americans would say, isn't it?
As a non native speaker I have to say this is a very interesting thread!
