I like Willis but the film was fairly mediocre.
Doesn't hold a candle to the original.
I give it 2 out of 5 stars.

They always remake films that were really good to start with & so end up with something inferior !

I'm thinking of things like Get Carter, The Wicker Man & Psycho !

Why don't they remake poor films & improve them ?

Tonight we watched a horror film called " The Stangers, Prey At Night". Worth a watch if you like slasher flicks. A film like this won't win any awards but it's ok if you know what to expect. Very violent and gory.

The Hustler (1961) re-watched this one recently and although it's a good movie, much prefer it's sequel, The Color Of Money (1986).

The Verdict (1982) - Paul Newman again, here giving a wonderfully nuanced performance in this emotive courtroom drama.

Rogue One (2016) - A good Star Wars movie that became rather tedious during the main battle sequence, with the screen full of spacecraft and everyone shooting at everyone, but more than made up for that with a great ending and the clever way it leads into the beginning of the original Star Wars movie.

The Sugarland Express (1974) - This Spielberg movie, made before Jaws became a smash hit, although not great, has it's moments.

Nocturnal Animals (2016) - Great movie, intricately plotted, yet initially, a little let down by a rather ambiguous and anticlimactic ending.

Don't Bother to Knock (1952) - Richard Widmark, Marilyn Monroe, Anne Bancroft.

Madam X (1966) - Lana Turner, John Forsythe, Ricardo Montalban

Kiss Me, Stupid (1964) - Dean Martin, Kim Novak

ALL interesting. 100 percent recommended

I watched 'Leatherface' the other night.

Remember the facially challenged character from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre who wore a leather face mask ?

It's his story !

There were bits with the chainsaw in action which I found quite hard to take !

Well made, but a tad gory... & forget about a happy ending...

The Last Jedi (2017) - although it has a few worthy moments, it's a very disappointing follow up to all that 'The Force Awakens' had built up to - taking the excellent cliffhanger of Rey finding Luke and throwing it away as fast as Luke throws away his lightsaber at the beginning of the movie. The Force Awakens promised so much that The Last Jedi just failed to deliver on.

Justice League (2017) - making The Last Jedi seem like a masterpiece, this is more cgi than substance with the only good thing about it being Gal Gadot reprising her excellent Wonder Woman performance. Drop the Justice League movies and make some more Wonder Woman movies.

If there are any Charles Bronson movie fans here, what do you make of this new movie, Death Kiss (2018), out first digitally in October it seems and on DVD in December, starring an actor with more than a slight resemblance to Charlie.

Be interested in your comments.

Just to annoy those from the UK who do not like the royals, I am going to share that I enjoyed the first series of "The Crown" and am looking forward to begin to watch the second series ;) :D

It is history, although Made for TV, watching these shows is a fun, "loose" way of learning history, especially, as this series of "The Crown" will feature "that dreadful American divorced woman". ;)
LOL

The U.K made Vet on the Hill is good animals series I really like :D
Anh's Brush With Fame is another I like but the season #3 is over.

Here's just a sample of Anh's work. Each episode he invites a guest in his studio, interviews him/her and at the same time paints a portrait, all encapsulated in 30 minutes, but alas there's no full episode to post here. Guests range from actors, singers, retired politician, high profile media broadcaster or even someone who's made the news in sad circumstances such as Rosie.
