So, may I please ask, what is the consensus?

Hope Lange or Marilyn?

I think that Hope looked very natural, and she seemed such a warm, funny, down to earth and practical lady (I loved her in the made for TV series "Ghost and Mrs Muir").

It's the Real Thing, Marilyn and Coke, from an advert never used.

Tricky one, that.

Hope Lange is lovely but maybe Marilyn Monroe is sexier...

There's no maybe about it. Marilyn was the sexiest woman ever, in the history of everything, ever. Even when she wasn't trying to be sexy, she was.

Yes, I didn't word that properly, did I ?

Try again:

Hope Lange is lovely, but maybe the sexiness of Marilyn Monroe gives her the edge.

Mountain Mists's question was:

"Hope Lange or Marilyn Monroe ?"

Marilyn's sexiness doesn't necessarily make her first choice [sex isn't everything] as Misty pointed out:

"...Hope looked very natural, and she seemed such a warm, funny, down to earth and practical lady..."

Those attributes would need to be considered when deciding between the two ladies...

I know what the conversation was about, but when discussing Marilyn's sexiness in comparison to other actresses, maybe doesn't come into it.

Yes, I see what you can see, with Marilyn projecting for the camera.

I just read up on Marilyn, if true what I read, her life became more interesting to the curious reader, with regard to her encounters that were, perhaps, to help her acting career, as I observed a photo, full of chemistry, with Marilyn and a lady who was her acting coach (plus, later on, it was noted Marilyn had a rendezvous with Barbara Stanwyck, gosh, lots of people). I had no idea.

Thanks, Colin.

LOL

Do you remember what Jane Fonda said? Something like, "Men used to physically shake when they were beside her."

I don't know Jane's quote, but, I can understand that they would shake.

I knew that the sexual orientation of Barbara Stanwyck was open to doubt, but I'd never heard that about Marilyn until I found this:

I would not be surprised if a big percentage of women (and men, too) have reluctantly (or more) slept their way up the ladder in that particular industry. Brendan Fraser, an actor, said in an interview in the last few years, that his career was over after he turned some man down.

Marilyn was probably understandably too sensitive, and probably too fragile to cope with it all.

Here are a few articles (I won't copy and paste the articles, it is not fair on Marilyn, here are the links):
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... -wife.html

https://www.inquisitr.com/1473822/forbi ... ha-lytess/

My girlfriend's now retired film maker husband, I overhead some of his conversations years ago, he represented female models at one stage before meeting his wife, and I really wanted to unhear the snippet of what I heard him boast about when I walked past - seems that it was "accepted" in that era, as we know.

One of Cilla's boyfriends was bi, and a model/actor (according to his book, he was also with Joan Crawford). She was a busy bee, lol.
