The latest change in the law allows them to marry with the same rights & protections as heterosexual couples.
But they still have the 'civil partnership' option, which is denied to heterosexual couples !
This is not equality !
A good example of the above has just been in the news.
If someone dies because of NHS negligence, their partner automatically gets compensation of £12,980.
But the recipient had to be a spouse or a civil partner.
But heterosexuals were denied the 'civil partnership' status available to 'same sex' partners !
If they weren't legally married, the partner, no matter how long they'd been together,
got zilch !
This has only now been successfully challenged in court.:
