Didn't know too much about him & his brother Dave.

They had some fine singles like: "You Really Got Me", "All Day and All of the Night" and "Tired of Waiting for You".

The song is supposedly about a real life experience that Ray had when picking up a 'girl' from a club.

Must have been awful for him...

Ray Davies.jpg

He has to try & not reveal his teeth in photos, or we'd see the huge gap he has between the front two...

Was he known as being "something awful" or the like, in his day, or fine?

He was always lauded for his songwriting, and I'd say he's a decent songwriter, but not great. However, I think there came a time when he became self important.

He was knighted a couple of years ago for services to the arts. What that means is anyone's guess.

Oh, our honours system is great, they only dish out knighthoods to the most deserving people who've made a major contribution:

Obviously you can take Savile out. However, the other two have done a lot of charity work and have donated millions to good causes. Regardless of what you think of them, they have made a difference to many lives.

I think that's what my post said.

And it included "Now then, now then" Jimmy Savile...

A fellow seaman once told me of something similar which happened to him, but the details are hardly suitable to relate on here...

Something similar happened to a friend of mine when he drunkenly picked up a deep voiced girl in a nightclub abroad. We told him, but he wouldn't listen.

OMG! Well, we know Lamar went through that, lol :o

You can tell, men's forearms are always longer in proportion.

Or, you could do a Paul Hogan, do you remember what he did in "Crocodile Dundee"?

LOL LOL LOL
