Oh well, The Sun for you then?

As it happens, I used to be a Sun reader !

I stopped when they went bananas over Mrs Thatcher's Falklands war in 1982.

The BBC reported events in a totally unbiased way but the Sun was screaming for them to be charged with treason !

How daft !

I switched to the Mirror for a while until The Independent was launched.

There is a 'lite' version of The Independent callled simply "i' which might survive as a printed newspaper.

If it does, I'll buy that instead.

As it happens, I used to be a Sun reader ! Did anyone ever read the Sun? They have it on the counter at my local Chinese take-away. While I wait for my order, I "read" it. Takes about 3 minutes.

Ha ha ha !

When I was with Blue Circle, I served on a job evaluation panel & I used to take The Sun to meetings.

It used to get passed round between all 12 members during the session, with Page 3 being particularly popular...

Passed round between 12 "members" sounds about right. I remember the late beautiful Viv Neves being featured often.

C60 - C90 - C120

If you know what I'm talking about, you're showing your age !

The long-forgotten & outdated audio cassette is coming back !

Remember those chewed-up tapes ?

Remember the piss-poor audio quality ?

Remember the half-recorded song at the end where the tape ran out ?

Remember having to reverse the thing half-way through to hear the 'other side' ?

Prepare to re-live those nightmares again !

In 2015, vinyl records had their biggest sales for 20 years & now it's the audio cassette that's gaining popularity !

Next good old film instead of digital and phone cameras. Take it to the chemist to get it developed.

Or by post.

I remember one film development company would send a free roll of film back with your photos.

They must have made their money from charging for the developing.

Trouble was, after you'd shot the film & sent it away, you got another free film back !

You'd sold your soul to them & there was no escape !

You're becoming quite the pedant, John !

All right, we've stopped using the word 'Holland' when referring to the country which we now call 'The Netherlands' !

Odd fact:

Within 'The Netherlands', there is an area called 'Holland' by the Dutch !

You're right! ... We even make a difference between the north and the south of Holland...
But how come you fine people start calling it "the Netherlamds?"

When I was at school [and later] it was always referred to as 'Holland'.

Now, it's the Netherlands.

Can't remember exactly when the change happened...

It's kinda like how we used to have a European country spelled Rumania, but now it's always Romania !
