April 03, 1955

Elvis was stopped for speeding outside of Shreveport in his Cadillac. He posted $25 and was notified to appear for arraignment on Tuesday, April 5.


April 03, 1956

Elvis performed at the Milton Berle Show, USS Hancock, San Diego, California. Elvis was paid $3,000 for his appearance on the show, which was broadcast from the deck of an aircraft carrier.


April 03, 1956

Elvis Presley made the first of two appearances on "The Milton Berle Show." He sang "Heartbreak Hotel" and two other songs. He earned $5,000.


April 03, 1957

Elvis took the 8.00 a.m. train to Ottawa, Canada, where he performed at the Ottawa Auditorium, at 4.40 and 8.00 p.m. After the show Elvis talked to some reporters: "It's a very uncertain business. The end may come in a lot less time than a few years".


April 03, 1960

Elvis went to Nashville for a recording session. The group of musicians were joined by saxophonist Boots Randolph. The plan was to record 10 songs over the next few nights, but Elvis recorded 12 songs in one marathon session from 7.30 p.m. to 7.30 a.m.

Elvis Presley recorded the songs "It's Now Or Never" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" in Nashville.


April 03, 1962

Elvis didn't want to go to Hawaii by plane, so the start of the picture was delayed. But at the last minute he was forced to fly because of a strike. He used the intervening time to drive to Las Vegas, where he stayed at the Sahara Hotel.


April 03, 1976

Elvis flew out of Memphis, most likely for a brief visit to Las Vegas or Palm Springs.
