Elvis tracks you never play

Postby WalterHaleJnr » Mon May 28, 2018 1:30 pm

In the wake of the "Miracle of the Rosary" controversy. which Elvis song or songs do you never play or probably never will play again and for what reason (s).

Mine are:

Miracle of the Rosary
An Evening Prayer
(both were ordinary choice and too short especially given these were waxed in 1971)
My Way (1971 studio) (loathed the arrangement)
I'll Hold You In My Heart (Long and Boring. Haven't touched it since 1984/5)
House of Sand
Beach Shack
Girl of mine (poorly recorded audio)
Winter Wonderland
Dominic
Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce

Too (much) many.... I doubt I would willingly play more than 30% of the catalogue. Over the past 20 or more years from burning CD compilations to ipods to USBs : I find I have around a 100 tracks, not necessarily the masters, that I play frequently. Have probably not played an entire album in years.

thanks mate. Can you put together a short list of varied era, not just the movies tracks , of ten tracks and if you recall, when was the last time you listened and any particular reason why you disliked ?

I always play a CD / CDR while I'm doing something else; I don't walk everytime to my audio-set to skip a track or program the playlist. Of course a song like Steadfast loyal and true is not my favorite. The newest CD's / CDR's are played most until a new CD is released. The "old" CD/CDR is stored then.
I often play homemade CDR's containing unreleased acetate versions / "new" concerts etc until it's storaged.

Walt's list is good, except for ill Hold U in My Heart. I'd add Take Good Care of Her, Old Shep, I Love You Because , Padre and a lot of early 60s ballads

Whoooaaw...all sounboards..
Ok,we talk about songs.....hard question....cause , for instance, outtakes of from a jack to a king are ok, but the master with the ridiculous lalalala female voices turns up my stomach.
Apropos turning up my stomach.....most over the top bellowed tunes from the 70s ala it's midnight,my boy etc.
I rather Listen to datin' than that.
Take good care of her ....boring boring song...somebody should have taken care of this and bury it with cement in the Mississippi.
Only believe....if only, no I don't believe it's a good song
It's only love...no it's only Crap
Love me love the life I lead.....wtf? That's not even a melody.and Elvis is in real bad voice.
I could go on ....

Funny, I like the album a lot.
Really.
Different sound and some nice songs.
One even outstanding.
I would never skip one song from that album.

The movie is real bad. The soundtrack ...i like it a lot.

I like the album, too, lol

In fact, I love, "So Close Yet So Far", such a beautiful song.

:D
