it's a miracle they could do just a bad job of production, lol

Thanks for posting this, Mountain Mist !

I was happy to see this CD release coming out for Xmas as it will keep our boy in the charts !

I wasn't expecting the tracks on it to improve on the originals !

That would be too tall an order !

I don't think it was meant to improve, but it doesn't compare to what they did with the other two albums. Generally it's poor. See my earlier comments.

After listening to this on youtube, I decided not to waste my money on this album.

The 'Christmas' Album from Elvis and The RPO will definitely not be No.1 in the UK album charts. Liam Gallagher's new album has already sold over 60,000 units and is likely to sell over 100,000 by the end of the week. This album has sold more than the total sales of the next 46 albums put together. Currently The Darkness are No.2 with around 4,000 sales.

But surely
Liam's album sales will be tailing off dramatically by the time the 'seasonal' sales start to kick in ?

With a position of only No.35 (at this moment) on Amazon UK, surely the album would not make number 1 anyway. This looks like the slowest seller of the three releases in its first week of release. Perhaps when the tv advert kicks in (in November), the bigger sales will come. Still, it will be interesting to see mid-week figures for next week.

I'm not won over by this album yet, but I think I will enjoy it more at Christmas time.

Not bad, but could have been better. Santa Clause is Back In Town, Merry Christmas Baby and I'll Be Home For Christmas are the highlights. But surprised that If Everyday Was Like Christmas and I'll be Home On Christmas Day were not included. Anywho, I am tired of these Orchestra sound remakes and would like to see them get back to Elvis' roots of rock, country and soul. These recordings are nice, but they make him sound more like crooners Sinatra or Dean Martin instead of the rocker we all love and know. They need to start doing more modern country-rock mixes for future Elvis albums since their plans are to put out new albums.

To be fair, 'they' have done lots of 'modern' mixes but, except for A Little Less Conversation & to a lesser extent Rubberneckin',
& the Xmas 'duets' album, they haven't met with any great commercial success...

That may have more to do with the fact that they have targeted older more gentle audiences instead of a youthful approach, and the fact that they spend very little on promotions and advertising. ALLC was well promoted globally and it sold extremely well and got him to the top in 90% of the globe's charts. They stopped putting energy and money behind global promos after ALLC was a hit, hence lack of more hits. Bossa Nova Baby from Viva Elvis was a golden opportunity absolutely blown. With the right promo, that would have had a great chance at another worldwide #1.
